The Rotax 912 S is a horizontally opposed 4 cylinder, 4 stroke, liquid/air cooled engine specially designed for recreational aircraft. It features dry sump forced lubrication with integrated pump and seperate oil tank, 8 valves that are automatically adjusted via hydraulic valve tappet, dual capacitor discharge ignition (DCDI) with RFI noise suppression, two constant depression (CD) carburetors, mechanically driven diaphragm fuel pump, integrated heavy duty electric starter, and an integrated reduction gearbox with 2.43:1 ratio and slipper clutch.
